The live band will keep you moving, and the caller will guide you through all the steps, so you can relax and enjoy the experience!

Book here >

  • Date: Friday 22 November 2024

Here’s what you can expect:

  • Live Band & Caller: The band brings the energy, while the caller walks you through every dance, making it easy to join in and have fun, even for beginners.
  • Facilities: The venue has a café serving home-cooked light meals, a reasonably priced bar, and the friendliest cloakroom staff in town. Plus, Cecil Sharp House features a sprung dance floor and air cooling system – ideal for an evening of active dancing.
  • Finale: The night wraps up with the singing of Robert Burns' Auld Lang Syne—a beautiful, traditional way to end a fantastic evening.

Dress Code: There’s no official dress code, but we recommend wearing something comfortable for dancing as it can get warm! Tartan is always appreciated, and you’ll look great in it too.

You’ll receive a virtual ticket and confirmation via Stripe, a secure payment platform. Tickets are limited, so act quickly! The night is likely to sell out a couple of weeks ahead.

Important Notes:

  • Alcohol Policy: There is a lovely bar selling drinks. No outside alcohol is allowed on the premises.
  • Don't forget your water bottle! There’s a refill station on-site – perfect for a quick refresh after a dance or two.
  • Consent and Etiquette: While ceilidh dancing is about meeting new people and dancing with different partners, please respect personal boundaries and accept a declined dance gracefully.

The plan: Meet us from 20.00 at Cecil Sharp House. We will likely settle in a corner of the room – spot the Swiss flat to find us!

Any questions? Please do not hesitate to email us! We look forward to seeing you.

Save the date!

As is the custom, we shall remember the events of that fateful night in December 1602, when the citizens of Geneva bravely repelled an attack by the Duke of Savoy.

Embrace the spirit of Geneva's history with costumes, Swiss wine, live music, and the delightful smashing of the chocolate cauldron - the Marmite.

This event is for all ages, so plan on bringing the whole family along!
