No Nile View marks the first major solo show of Swiss-Egyptian artist Noha Mokhtar in London. A visual exploration of middle and upper class domestic spaces in Cairo, the exhibition brings together a series of photographs alongside a site-specific work. With projects oscillating between fiction and non-fiction, the artist seeks a critical engagement with notions of culture, family, gender and the built environment.

Swiss-Romansh writer Gianna Olinda Cadonau was invited as one of 14 European authors to join a residency in Wales to exchange on endangered languages and landscapes. She was also selected to participate at the Hay Festival during the ‘Writers at Work’ session and will appear on stage on 30 May.

The Great Escape is the festival for new music, showcasing 450 emerging artists from all over the world. Swiss Music Export will present the following Swiss artists this year:
Benjamin Amaru, Joya Marleen and Sirens Of Lesbos  (see their UK tour below).
 
On 16 May from 1.15 pm to 4.00 pm Swiss Music Export, in collaboration with the Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia and Fondation SUISA, will host a Swiss Music Showcase at the Komedia Studio Bar.

A gem of the Swiss art world will be shown at the Courtauld Gallery in the exhibition Goya to Impressionism. Masterpieces from the Oskar Reinhart Collection. The show will present an exceptional selection of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist paintings in the first ever exhibition of the Oskar Reinhart Collection ‘Am Römerholz’ to be staged outside of Winterthur.

The Swiss Stammtisch is a regular event where Swiss people in and around Edinburgh together informally for a drink and discussions on topics that are of interest, including living abroad, politics and culture.
