On 25 November Switzerland voted on a range of issues, such as the welfare of agricultural animals (Horned Cow Initiative), the statutory basis for social welfare investigators to monitor claimants, and giving the Swiss Constitution precedence over international law (Self-Determination Initiative).

Results:

• ‘For the dignity of farm animals’ (Horned Cow Initiative): Rejected by 54.7%

• ‘Swiss law, not foreign judges’ (Self-determination Initiative): Rejected by 66.2%

• Statutory basis for monitoring claimants: Accepted by 64.7%
